A security deposit is an amount of money held as a guarantee to cover potential damages or losses to the sailboat during the charter period. Usual amount is from 1,000 EUR to 2,500 EUR depending on a sailboat size. Sailboat insurance covers the damages above that amount. This is done so that insurance company does not get overwhelmed by thousands of small amount insurance claims. Security deposit can be made by card or in cash. If the boat is returned without damages, the deposit will be fully refunded.
All our boats are fully insured against damages and third-party liabilities. Sailboat insurance does not cover damages below 1,000–2,500 EUR and that is the reason for security deposit.
It is non-refundable payment that is usually 1/5 of the refundable security deposit and if used, a client is safe from any extra charges due to any kind of damages that happen to the boat
Most Split yacht charter check-ins are scheduled for Saturday afternoon once the yacht is fully prepared (around 5 pm). At this time, guests need to leave the boat to allow for thorough cleaning and preparation for the arrival of new crew.

When selecting a boat, it is important to ensure that the total number of people in your group plus the skipper aligns with the maximum number of berths. It is important to note that the skipper is not expected to share a cabin with any member of your party. It is highly advisable to charter a larger boat, providing a separate cabin for the skipper. Skipper can also use the saloon area for sleeping, provided it can be converted into a sleeping space. In such cases, regard the saloon as the skipper’s private area and be mindful of allowing enough time for rest and relaxation.
Yes, you have to provide the food for the skipper during your sailing trip.
As the charterer, you have a contract with a the charter company so legally you are responsible for the sailboat. When you hire a skipper he answers to you and in the case when his action (or lack of action) is the cause of damage he will pay for the damage to you so you can pay the charter company. Normally this is communicated with the charter company so at the end skipper insurance pays for the damage.

It is definitely better to choose a marina or a small port with electricity, water and other benefits of civilization. It will also be safer in case of bad weather. Also, there are numerous safe and protected bays along the Adriatic coast with buoys to which you can tie your sailboat. The least safe way is to sleep on the anchored sailboat.
Marina costs in Croatia vary depending on factors such as boat length and the quality of marina or port services. Generally, port fees for a 45-foot boat start at 80€ per night and can reach up to 130€ in some marinas like Split, Hvar, and Dubrovnik.
Packing for a sailing holiday in Croatia is all about balancing comfort, practicality, and space. Cabins on boats tend to be compact, so smart, minimalist packing will help you a lot. Make sure you don't forget your passport, ID, and skipper license. Also, remember any medication you may need. Waterproof sailing clothes and shoes are essential. However, if you're sailing from June to August, lighter attire such as t-shirts, trousers, shorts, a bathing suit, hat, and a lightweight pullover for cooler evenings should be adequate. Appropriate boat shoes with non-slip rubber soles are a must.
A soft bag is easier to store on a boat. A hard case will give you some problems as the storae room on the boat is limited.
When going on a boat, you need to take your clothes, items for personal hygiene, and medicaments. You should also take some warmer clothes and water-proof jacket in case of bad weather, and you should also pay attention to having shoes that are appropriate for the boat. High heels are a hazard. You can buy food and drinks in the marina or in one of the shops near the marina.
